Isha Ki Namaz Ka Tarika In Urdu – Witr Ki Namaz Ka Tarika
Witr Namaz consists of 3 rakats and is Wajib. The method is the same as other prayers except that in the 3rd rakat, after reciting Al-Fatihah and a Surah, the hands are raised for Takbeer-e-Qunoot and Dua-e-Qunoot is recited before going into Ruku.
Dua-e-Qunoot
Transliteration: Allahumma inna nasta’inuka wa nastaghfiruka wa nu’minu bika wa natawakkalu alayka wa nuthni alaykal khayr. Wa nashkuruka wa la nakfuruk. Wa nakhla’u wa natruku man yafjuruk. Meaning: O Allah, we seek Your help and ask Your forgiveness, and we believe in You and put our trust in You. We praise You in the best way and we thank You and are not ungrateful to You. We forsake and turn away from those who disobey You. O Allah, You alone we worship and to You we pray and prostrate. To You we hasten and we hope for Your mercy and fear Your punishment. Your punishment will surely reach the disbelievers.
Safar Me Isha Ki Namaz Ka Tarika
When a Muslim is traveling (Safar), the rules of Qasr (shortening) apply. According to the majority of Islamic scholars, a traveler who is 48 miles (approximately 77 km) or more away from home performs 2 rakats of Fardh instead of 4 for Isha.
Key points for travelers:
- 4 Fardh are reduced to 2 Fardh — this is the Qasr concession
- The Sunnah rakats before Fardh may be left out during travel according to some scholars, though offering them brings extra reward
- Witr remains 3 rakats — it is not shortened during travel
- The intention for Qasr must be made: “I intend to offer 2 Fardh rakats of Qasr Isha Namaz for Allah.”
- If a traveler prays behind a non-traveler (muqeem) imam, they must complete 4 rakats
This concession is confirmed in the Quran:
“And when you travel through the land, there is no blame on you if you shorten the prayer…” (Surah An-Nisa, 4:101)
Ramzan Me Isha Ki Namaz Ka Tarika
In the blessed month of Ramzan, the method and rakat count of Isha Namaz remain exactly the same as any other time of the year. However, there are important additions:
- After the 2 Sunnah after Fardh, 20 rakats of Taraweeh are offered in congregation
- Taraweeh is a confirmed Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and carries immense reward in Ramzan
- After Taraweeh, 3 rakats of Witr are offered
- Many mosques complete one Juz (para) of the Quran each night in Taraweeh during Ramzan
- It is highly recommended to pray Isha and Taraweeh in congregation (Jamaat) in the masjid during this month
The Prophet (PBUH) said:
“Whoever prays Isha in congregation, it is as if he has prayed half the night. And whoever prays both Fajr and Isha in congregation, it is as if he has prayed the whole night.” (Sahih Muslim narrated by Uthman ibn Affan RA)

Benefits of Offering Isha Ki Namaz Ka Tarika
Offering Isha Ki Namaz Ka Tarika regularly brings profound spiritual and worldly benefits:
1. Divine Protection Through the Night The Prophet (PBUH) said that one who offers Isha Namaz is under the protection of Allah until morning.
2. Reward Equal to Half the Night’s Worship Performing Isha in congregation carries the reward of worshipping Allah for half the night, as confirmed in Sahih Muslim.
3. Light on the Day of Judgment The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Give glad tidings to those who walk to the mosques in darkness, of a complete light on the Day of Resurrection.” (Sunan Abu Dawood)
4. A Mark of True Believers The Quran describes the believers as those whose sides leave their beds at night for prayer. Consistently performing Isha is a sign of sincere faith.
5. Closes the Day with Gratitude Isha Namaz is the perfect way to end the day with the remembrance of Allah, seek forgiveness for the day’s shortcomings, and submit oneself to His care through the night.
Isha Ki Namaz Ka Waqt – When Is Isha Namaz Prayed?
Isha Namaz time begins after the red twilight (shafaq ahmar) disappears from the horizon and continues until just before the time of Fajr (Subh Sadiq). The best time to offer Isha is in the early part of its time, though praying it before midnight is strongly recommended.
Delaying Isha until after midnight without reason is considered Makrooh (disliked), although the prayer remains valid until Fajr.
